How to copy a large video to another Android device
A large video is a useful test of both free storage and connection stability. With Files To Other Devices, the app must be installed on both phones and both must be on the same Wi-Fi network that allows devices to communicate.
Before starting
- Check the video's file size on the sending phone.
- Check that the receiving phone has more free space than the video requires.
- Open the app on both phones and connect them; follow the on-screen prompts.
- Keep the devices close together and make sure they have sufficient battery power.
Copy and verify
Choose the video and start the transfer. Avoid disconnecting the phones or switching Wi-Fi networks until the app reports completion. Find the video in the receiving phone's Download or configured destination folder and play a section near its beginning and end. Do not delete the original until you have verified the copy.
If a large video fails
Try transferring a small photo first. If small files succeed, recheck destination storage and keep both devices awake for the next large-video attempt. If the devices cannot see each other at all, inspect client isolation or local firewall settings on the common Wi-Fi network. There is no guaranteed transfer speed: it depends on the phones and radio conditions.
